Background:
This was the first project Triton Interiors were awarded following their successful appointment to the TFL procurement framework and hopefully the start of many more to come with a delighted client and a scheme delivered 14k under budget on time and snag free after accommodating over 150 variations throughout the project.
The Development:
Situated immediately adjacent and within the boundary of the busy Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre site and close to numerous transport hub facilities and lines the development comprised a new office fit out for British Transport Police over 2 floors with changing areas on the mezzanine floor and main office on ground floor consisting of a mess room/kitchen, plant room, male and female toilets and disabled WC, meeting rooms, 3 inspector’s offices and a Taser room!
A key feature to this project was the extensive use of glazed partitions throughout the main office and a Schuco system glazed entrance lobby. Significant Design & Build elements for this project included the infilling of a pre-existing escalator well and the design, procurement, and management of a full M&E package of works.
With a dedicated and diligent approach, backed by first hand experience of the Westfield delivery process the Triton team overcame the numerous logistical challenges that come with working in such locations to the delight of the Client, Transport For London and their tenant, The British Transport Police.
